Final Reflections
Reflections:
After this journey, we have learned a lot about our district and canton, we feel that this project has helped us appreciate more where we live. Our district or neighborhood is a very safe and beautiful place that everyone should visit at some point of their lives. It doesn´t have a lot of touristic places but this makes it a familiar place in which people easily get to know their neighbors. What we like the most about Santo Tomás is that it isn´t full of houses or buildings, it still has a lot of green areas to enjoy. Also, you can always see people running, walking their dogs, and having a good time outside. This means that people can go out of their house without being scared something bad will happen. This project made us learn a lot of new and interesting things about our neighborhood. We learned some facts such as when it was founded, by whom, and other things. What we found the most fascinating was the evolution of Santo Tomás as a district. Finally, we concluded that this district is an incredible place that can offer you amazing things and we hope it continues like that for many years.
We feel identified with our district:
We think that identifying with your district and feeling welcome and proud to live in it are very important factors that affect our mood and our happiness. In order to do this, we have to find things that we enjoy and that have a positive impact in our community. We feel identified with our neighborhood and our district because we have found ways to connect with the people that surround us and we have made Santo Tomás our home. Some ways to create or strengthen these connections are keeping the community clean (recycling, throwing away the trash), organizing activities in your neighborhood for special holidays, finding ways of making the community safer, and many others. We feel like if we try to contribute and are willing to participate in the improvement of our community, we are going to feel identified and comfortable with the place we live in.
